Over 28 years working within Arts, Community, Education Local Authority and Third Sectors. Especially undertaking Business Development, Fundraising, Programme and Project Management, & Audience Development/Marketing, as well as leading many hundreds of video production and training projects – during the development of Soap Box Films, and previously Community Productions Merseyside (which became First Take). He’s worked with a very diverse range of groups and has developed a wide range of partnerships along the way, across the whole North West.
BOSNIAN ORAL HISTORIES - Throughout most of the 90s he was involved in voluntary work supporting the multicultural elements in ex-Yugoslavia - Workers Aid for Bosnia involved groups of workers from across Europe, including Spain & France. A key element of this work was with the multicultural mining city of Tuzla. During the war over a dozen convoys & 400 people went to Tuzla & supported groups to form direct links. eg miner to miner, student to student, teacher to teacher, post office worker to post office worker etc. He also supported many refugees in Britain. During the war, as well as raising aid & support, he produced two short programmes supporting the convoys going to Tuzla, and after the war ended, completed two longer, hour-long documentaries telling an oral history of Tuzla & how it survived the 1992-1995 war.
