“Come with us on a journey, we promise to bring you back in one piece, but maybe with a slightly different view on things. What was impossible, is in fact possible. What was real, is actually unreal. Welcome to Upswing's new performance Fallen in the Black-E's new Main Space.  Let us turn your world upside down!

In Fallen, alone in a foreign land, caught in a place of transition, a woman turns from reality, to escape to a place where dreams reunite her with all she has lost in her escape.

Weaving dance, aerial, circus and animation with African spirituality and a modern narrative, Fallen creates a dynamic and poetic portrait of eternal love, overwhelming loss and the resilience of the human spirit, whilst questioning what it means to be a woman and a mother when caught in the process of change as one culture meets another.Poster style image of title Fallen with miniature dancers

Upswing have swung and spun their way through a stunning array of multi-disciplinary performances: from old skool hip hop and young love, through African mythology and Kenyan acrobatics, to an Olympic descent of Nelson's column that sent a silk banner cascading down this familiar monument.

The aerial and circus world of Upswing is poignant, unpredictable, and eloquent. Catch this remarkable company on their only Liverpool appearance in 2010.
