We need people who are passionate about helping all our community to get involved in the work we do.  You can help us reach more people and make a real difference. It’s the perfect volunteer opportunity! Your contribution in both time and energy will make sure that our work has the maximum impact. You can also help us make sure that everyone who comes to the Black-E has a good experience.

What’s in it for you?

What’s involved?

As a member of the volunteer team, you will:

  • Participate in a Training the Trainer Style event – with a focus on skills.
  • Depending on your availability and/or interest we have loads of different roles: including stewards, reception, admin, design, first-aid and customer liaison.
  • Subject to your availability, take part in future events. Attend briefing and de-briefing sessions.
  • Support, mentor and motivate fellow volunteer ambassadors in their role.
  • Support us in shaping our programme and our aims and objectives of making the Black-E open and inclusive for everyone.


Have you got what it takes?

To take on a volunteer Cultural Ambassador role you will need to:

  • Have enthusiasm and a positive approach.
  • Be willing to use and share  your personal leadership skills and experience
  • Being an effective team player and expressing yourself in a clear, honest and open manner.
  • Remain calm when working under pressure, especially when you’re working in a busy environment.
  • Be open to growing in confidence when dealing with the public.
  • Live our values and demonstrate what being inclusive means.
